And Just Like That... (Season 2, Episode 1)

Max

"And Just Like That..." is a comedy-drama television series developed by Michael Patrick King for HBO Max. It is a revival and a sequel of the HBO television series "Sex and the City" created by Darren Star, which is based on Candace Bushnell's newspaper column and 1996 book anthology of the same name.

Development for the series began in December 2020, following the cancellation of a third film adaptation. It was given a straight-to-series order by HBO Max.

"And Just Like That..." premiered Season 1 on December 9, 2021, starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York Goldenblatt. Billed as a mini-series, it was renewed for a second season in March 2022.

Set 11 years after the events of the 2010 film "Sex and the City 2", the women of "Sex and the City" make their transition from a life of liberation and friendship in their 30s to a more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.

Since the April 2022 merger of WarnerMedia with Discovery to form Warner Bros. Discovery, Max is one of the combined company's two flagship streaming services, the other being Discovery+ (which primarily focuses on factual programming from the Discovery brands). Warner Bros. Discovery initially announced plans for HBO Max and Discovery+ to merge in 2023, but the company ultimately chose to retain Discovery+. Warner Bros. Discovery went on with an associated revamp of HBO Max that launched first in the United States on May 23, 2023, shortening the service's name to Max.

Shefik appears as a Fusion Restaurant Patron in Season 2, Episode 1 of "And Just Like That...". The season premiere episode, titled "Met Cute", was directed by Michael Patrick King, and written by King and Susan Fales-Hill. It was released on Max on June 22, 2023.

In the episode, Carrie and her "Sex and the City" podcast producer, Franklyn, settle into an "every-Thursday" hook-up routine. Carrie juggles who to take to the Met Gala as her "plus one", then has a fashion disaster when her custom-designed dress does not fit. She instead wears her Vivienne Westwood wedding dress. Miranda, adjusting to Los Angeles, attempts to keep busy while Che works long hours. Che, meanwhile, becomes withdrawn after being asked to lose weight for the television pilot. Seema breaks up with Zed after learning he still lives with his ex-wife, though he clarifies they have different living quarters. Nya, separated from Andre, calls him for a sexy FaceTime encounter, only to discover he is with a woman, who he claims is a musical collaborator. Carrie, not ready for a serious relationship, is uncomfortable when Franklyn invites her to a social event.
