  • Designed, developed, and tested software using Drupal 7, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript to fulfill the technical and functional requirements of Web Communications Strategy, including but not limited to developing/extending Drupal modules and themes, writing hooks, customizing views, customizing permissions, and configuring actions and triggers.
  • Worked closely with the Web Task Force to design, develop, and test software integrations between Drupal and School/University systems (i.e. JavaEE applications, Oracle databases, and web services).
  • Designed, developed, and tested software using best practices and internal standards.
  • Assisted in all maintenance/upgrade activities of LAMP servers and Drupal software, which included installations of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MySQL Enterprise, Varnish, and Nginx, for the website web.law.columbia.edu/alumni/.
  • Implemented designs from Web Communications Strategy into pixel accurate, standards-compliant XHTML and CSS.
  • Troubleshooted HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Drupal, PHP, MySQL, and general web performance issues.
  • Worked with Web Communications Strategy team to troubleshoot system-related issues.
  • Maintained a close working relationship with the Web Communications team.
  • Participated in design and code reviews.

Celebrating over 25 years in the entertainment industry, Shefik held senior-level positions at many Fortune 500 companies and celebrated brands, including IBM, NBCUniversal, and MTV World. He currently serves as a Technical Lead at NBCUniversal. His work was featured in television broadcasts and video productions for TIME, The Washington Center, "Unsung" (TV One), and Broadway World. He is currently the Executive Producer and Host of the nationally syndicated radio show "Shefik presents Invocation", which is broadcast on over 20 terrestrial radio stations and frequencies throughout the United States, as well as the internationally distributed video series of the same name via Prime Video and other notable outlets.
