Broadway Sings for Pride

Suze Orman is an American financial advisor, author, and podcast host, with over 25 million books in circulation, available in 12 languages worldwide. In 1987, she founded the Suze Orman Financial Group. Her work as a financial advisor gained notability with "The Suze Orman Show", which ran on CNBC from 2002 to 2015. During 2011, while she had her show on CNBC, Shefik also worked at the television network as Software Engineer.

Orman has written ten consecutive books about personal finance, which appeared on The New York Times Best Sellers list. She was named twice to the TIME 100 list of influential people, and she has won 2 Emmy Awards and 8 Gracie Awards. She has written, co-produced, and hosted 9 PBS specials, and has appeared on multiple additional television shows. She has been a guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" approximately 29 times and "Larry King Live" over 30 times. Orman is currently the podcast host of the podcast "Suze Orman's Women & Money (And Everyone Smart Enough to Listen)". Before entering the financial services industry, she worked as a waitress at Buttercup Bakery in Berkeley, California, making $400 a month.

On June 20, 2016, Broadway Sings for Pride premiered its 6th anniversary benefit concert "Ovation" in New York City, at Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan. This milestone event was filled with singing (from pop to Broadway), stories, special celebrity guests, and more. The show honored Tyler Clementi Foundation and AIDS pioneer and activist Ruth Coker Burks. Broadway Sings for Pride is a multiple award-winning, non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists, and celebrities, to educate the public, raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQ+ youth, and support these young people, so that they may reach their full potential.

Orman addressed the audience with an inspirational speech during the benefit concert, where Shefik served as Videographer. Orman is a world-renowned motivational speaker, who speaks annually to over 100,000 people in the United States, and throughout the world. USA TODAY named her a "one-woman financial advice powerhouse", and in 2007, BusinessWeek recognized her as "a top motivational speaker in the U.S.".
