During June 2009, Matt DeAngelis got the call to make his Broadway debut in the Tony Award winning production of "Hair" with Tony Award winner Diane Paulus at the helm. Following his time with the hippies, he launched the 1st National Tour of Green Day's "American Idiot" as the Representative from Jingletown.
DeAngelis returned home to Broadway (again with Paulus) in the hit musical "Waitress", where he starred opposite Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller, 2-time Grammy Award winner Jason Mraz, and the show's composer Sara Bareilles. DeAngelis then toured the United States with the "Waitress" National Tour as Earl, opposite his real-life wife Christine Dwyer as Jenna. On television, DeAngelis has appeared on CBS' "Person of Interest", CBS' "Madam Secretary", Marvel's "Daredevil", CBS' "Evil", ABC's "For Life", and NBC's "Chicago P.D.".
After moving to New York City, Dwyer booked the 2nd National Tour of "Wicked" as the Elphaba understudy, under the direction of multiple Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Through hard work and perseverance, Dwyer made her way through the ranks at "Wicked", quickly becoming the Standby for Elphaba and then taking over for the role of Elphaba. After her run as Elphaba on tour, "Wicked" brought her to Broadway, where she flew high for several years as the lovable green witch.
On June 4, 2016, Broadway Sings for Pride held a Broadway-themed concert, as part of "Pride 2016", in White Plains, New York. "Pride 2016" was a multiple-attraction, family entertainment event, presented by The LOFT: LGBTQ+ Community Services Center. Musical performances by Broadway stars and the New York City Gay Men's Chorus were highlights of the program. Broadway Sings for Pride is a multiple award-winning, non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists, and celebrities, to educate the public, raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQ+ youth, and support these young people, so that they may reach their full potential.
DeAngelis and Dwyer performed the song "Domino" during the event, where Shefik served as Videographer. "Domino" is a song by English singer and songwriter Jessie J from her debut studio album, "Who You Are" (2011). Musically, "Domino" is an electropop, pop rock, and dance-pop song. Jessie J co-wrote "Domino" with its producers, Dr. Luke and Cirkut, with extra writing from Claude Kelly and Max Martin.
The song became Jessie J's second number-one single in the United Kingdom, following her previous collaboration with Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly titled "Price Tag" (2011). In the United States, the song peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her most successful single in the United States at the time (it has since been surpassed by "Bang Bang" in 2014).
