Broadway Sings for Pride

Adrienne Fishe is an international entertainer with over 15 years of seasoned performances to her credit. She is a singer-songwriter and lead vocalist for jazz, pop, rock, R&B, gospel, and big band.

Born and raised in New York City, Fishe began singing in front of audiences when she was 7 years old. By the time she was 11 years old, Fishe knew she wanted to be a performer and sing for large audiences worldwide. Some early experiences during her musical journey include being the 3rd runner up in "Hal Jackson's Talented Teen Contest" at age 13, and later a 3-time winner in Ed McMahon's "Star Search".

In 2000, Fishe joined the cruise line entertainment industry, performing for Royal Caribbean on their Voyager class ship, The Explorer of The Seas, as the Featured Guest Entertainer and has since become one of the industry's World Class Headline Entertainers. Additionally, Fishe's theatre credits include the Broadway production of "Rent" in the lead role of Joanne Jefferson, "West Side Story" in the role of Maria, "Sing: The Power of the Human Voice" in the Ensemble, "YES! The Musical" in the role of Rosa Parks, "AIDA" in the role of Nahebka, and "Beauty and the Beast" in the role of Babette.

Fishe is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association (AEA), and SAG-AFTRA, as well as a voting member of the Grammy Awards. She has released two studio albums with her explosive band, available under the stage name Mz. Fishe and The New Groove.

On September 10, 2017, Broadway Sings for Pride held a Broadway-themed concert, as part of "The Original LGBT Expo", at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. "The Original LGBT Expo" featured over 250 exhibitors, non-stop live entertainment on the stage, and hours of interactive seminars. Musical performances by Broadway stars were highlights of the program. Sponsors included United Airlines, Lufthansa, Foresters Financial, and New York Liberty. Broadway Sings for Pride is a multiple award-winning, non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists, and celebrities, to educate the public, raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQ+ youth.

Fishe performed the song "A Deeper Love" during the event, where Shefik served as Videographer. "A Deeper Love" is a 1991 single written and performed by Clivillés & Cole, featuring vocals by Deborah Cooper and Paul Pesco. The song was the duo's 5th number-one on the United States dance chart.

In 1994, Aretha Franklin covered "A Deeper Love", featuring a backing vocal by Lisa Fischer. This version was also produced by Clivillés & Cole and was later released on January 31, 1994 by Arista Records as the lead single of her "Greatest Hits (1980-1994)" collection.
